This is how we don't blow up!

Here is how the hut doesn't blow up. This floor vent, which is just behind the BBQ tank will allow gas to escape outside.
The sides have lattice for ventilation and windows that open to accomadate the air/smoke/gas flow. also the door has a window for added air flow. This is how you bbq out of the wind and......don't blow up!

Here is our BBQ hut! Cost us only $80.00!! The only thing we bought was the trim (lighter boards), the lattice on the sides and the nails. The floor, framing and side deck were built using a friends old deck, that my huband painstaking removed every nail from. The windows were rescued from land fill fate, the door a road side find. The plywood was our neighbours who had no use for it. And the shingles were left in our shed when we moved here. Now we can BBQ all year long in Saskatchewan's wind in the summer and snow in the winter. Oh and another friend gave us four cans of paint, so tomorrow it will be painted!
YAY for BBQ-d

More Record Purses!

Here are a couple of more versions of the record purse. This first one I heated in the oven and folded in half, while still warm.
And this one, is made from 2 45's. Since the hole in the middle is quite large, I put a happy face sticker, backed with yellow duct tape. A wide belt was the perfect length to accomodate the outside of the purse and provide a handle.

Here's a few things my husband and oldest son picked up at an auction, In order to get the beautiful blown glass fish (not pictured) they also got this 'stuff' in the lot. The really ugly, I think it is a candy dish, now siliconed to an inverted bottle. Has become a bird drinking station. The battered rusty pail is now full of marigolds and the insulators that now mark my flower beds and refect light as good as any 'yard marker lights'.

Here an old chair, oil can and Esso oil pail topped with a basin serves as my bird feeding/watching station.

And my lillies! My yard now has over 300 lillies. When the yellow open I will post photos. d

One of my daughters out grew her favorite tank top. She didn't want to give it up. So, I made it into a tote bag for her books. Simply folded it strap to strap, sewed it up and added some silk flowers. She loves it! d

Glitter "Tiger" Pillow

After making this, I discovered that glitter and pillows don't really go together. It is stictly for decorative purposes. Unless, of course, you don't mind having glitter on your face and in your hair. Also, I never thought about cleaning it?? So even though it looks nice, next time I'll stick to fabric paint only. d

I have finally gotten around to posting again. This is a poptab shoulder bag I made. It's not a very good photo. You cant see how each tab is cut and then linked together in 'chain mial'. For the handles I just made 2 belts and attatched them to the top of each triangle. It was very time consuming but turned out pretty good. d

Well, been busy making these Texas Bags. Thank you Kenna for sending me all the great plates. This one is my favorite. Has the space shuttle, tumble weeds etc.

Here's the side. i cut the little cowboy out of duct tape too. Not as easy as it looks by the way.

The other side, has a little map of texas. And of course to finish it the handle had to have red and blue metallic cording. This one's a keeper. Thanx again Kenna, makes mw wish I was from Texas!!

Serenity Eye Pillow

I've been making these for some time now. The picture sucks, but they are very nice and work great. Each pillow measures 9x4x1 inches. They are filled with flaxseeds provided by "Serenity Farms" (hence the name) that is right here in my home town. To use simply heat in the microwave and place over eyes to relieve tension, headaches and migranes. May also be use as a cold pack by placing it in a ziplock and then in the freezer. The nice thing about flaxseeds is they don't smell after a few uses, like rice tends to do. As an added bonus, you get one minute of heat for each second in the microwave.

In this age of recycling, a good crafter/artist must re-use. I have made several of these bags. Halloween being my greatest source of materials. This style is available in almost every brand of candy/potato chip. I also make them out of food labels. Makes one hungry just thinking about it! d

So many people have been interested in trading caps with me that I decided to start a central place for viewing of the 600,000 plus caps I have to trade.
